At Bay City Academy and North Central Academy, we strive to keep our families and students informed of the events, cancellations, and other important happenings. We utilize lots of different methods to help ensure the messages get into the right hands. With that goal in mind, we are implementing a new system – SchoolMessenger.

The SchoolMessenger notification service is able send important information to families through phone calls, emails, and text messages. You may have already received some phone messages from us. Below are some important notifications about this service:

1. This service uses the telephone numbers and email addresses that are in PowerSchool (our student records system). Please make sure to notify us of any changes to your phone number or email so that we can ensure you continue to receive important communications.

2. Starting November 9th, 2015, we will be automating phone calls regarding absences. Once morning attendance has been take, the system will place the calls, starting at 9:00 am. for any student with an unexcused absence.

3. This service has the ability to send text/SMS messages to cellular phones. Federal government regulations require that you Opt-In to receive messages from BCA and NCA. Please review the information below regarding this process.

TEXT / SMS OPT-IN
To comply with wireless carrier requirements and protect against unsolicited text messages, you will receive a text/SMS message to the wireless cell phone number that the district has on file requesting that you opt in to receive important information from the district via text/SMS message.

The message you receive will be similar to the following:
"Bay City Academy messages. Reply Y for aprx
       3 msgs/mo. Txt HELP 4 info. Msg&data rates
       may apply. Visit schoolmessenger.com/tm"

So that you can continue to receive these important messages from BCA and NCA, we encourage you to reply with "Y" or "Yes" or "OPTIN" when you receive this verification message.
To opt out of all text messages from SchoolMessenger, visit http://www.schoolmessenger.com/txtmsg/ or reply with STOP to the opt-in message that you receive. If you opt in, but decide to opt out later on, you may also reply "STOP" to any message or send "STOP" to 68453.

Standard text messaging rates may apply. Bay City Academy and North Central Academy are not responsible for charges that may be incurred for sending or receiving text messages. Check with your wireless carrier for possible charges.

We continually take strides to improve our schools for the benefit of our students, parents, and community. As part of determining the needs, we are asking our students, parents, staff, and community members to complete surveys about BCA. Below are links for the parent and community surveys, relating to each of our Bay City campuses.
